As firefighters, there are unique risk factors associated with the work that you do. We are at elevated risk for certain types of cancer, respiratory issues, arthritis, allergic reactions and depression, often linked with higher suicide rates. Early detection and treatment are critical to addressing these diseases successfully, which is why it’s so important to schedule your Annual Exam.

In 2024, the additional VEBA contribution earned for completing your exam between October 1, 2022 – September 30, 2023 will remain the same. Our goal is for 100% participation in this valuable exam, so we encourage you to take the next step in dedication to your health. If you haven’t already completed your exam, please remember to schedule before the September 30, 2023 deadline, in order to earn the additional $500 VEBA contribution for 2024.
How to schedule your appointment
The medical exam is available to all Local 29 members, including non-Medicare eligible retirees participating in the SFFBT health plan. To schedule, please call Maranda at 509-598-7749, or contact her through your MyChart messages.
Reminder, your exam and the results are completely confidential and will not be shared with anyone you do not specifically authorize.
